Travelin’ with Kids

After traveling and flying with 6 kids we quickly learned that it’s a lot of work! We would pack the bare minimum and always ended up feeling like we didn’t always have everything we needed and then never had enough room to bring home souvenirs. With kids, no matter where you go…there’s STUFF!!!! Strollers, pack and plays, toys, life jackets, sand toys, etc!!

Then, we started traveling with 8 kids!!!! We bought a high top 15 passenger van which is AWESOME but there’s not a lot of space for STUFF. The kids were cramped and again we just felt like we needed more space!!!! So, 1 year we decided to rent a UHAUL! All I can say is “OMG…LIFESAVER!”

We rent a 5X8 pull behind. It literally only costs about $16/day and there’s no limit on mileage! We literally pack anything and everything! I’ll do more posts later about Uhaul packing! We put EVERYTHING in the Uhaul! The only things allowed in the van are pillows, blankets, stuffies and a small bag for electronics, chargers, books, etc and one bin of snacks!

Now we NEVER travel without the UHAUL! And, when we get to our destination, we drop it and lock it in the hotel parking lot so we can drive around without it but have easy access to it! I’m telling you…best choice we’ve ever made!
